Mark and Jen's Wedding
This posting is a little late (as most of them are) but the weekend of February 24, Jen and I made the trip out to Golden B.C. for Mark and Jen's wedding on top of Kicking Horse mountain. A really nice, small ceremony in a picturesque lodge on top of the mountain. Great skiing, though pretty challenging.
Jen looked great in a winter-themed dress (with fur trim on the shall etc.) It was great to see them again, and be a part of such an intimate celebration. Afterwards we enjoyed a great reception in a ski lodge that Jen's mom and step father had rented, and we spent the remaining days skiing, both at Kicking horse and at Lake Louise, before spending a final night in Calgary, catching up with one of Jen's (Paau) high school friends, then heading back to Toronto, and for me, Boston.
I hadn't been skiing in 2 years, so it was great to get back at it. Especially out west, which was also new to me, so the semi-warm temperature combined with the excellent powder conditions makes me wonder if skiing on the east coast will ever suffice now that I know how good it *can* be. Nevertheless, great event, great company, stunning scenery and a lot of fun. Happily, it also coincided with a long weekend at HBS, so we were able to make a proper trip of it. The drive through the rockies was killer.

Nancy and Charolette on their best behaviour
The crowd waits patiently, aided by the fact that at this ceremony, they serve drinks! (Take note: those who are still to marry...this was a massively positive innovation on Mark & Jen's part).
